Fashion on the Town

Tonight and tomorrow night The Saturday Local Art Market is participating in Fashion on the Town. I couldn't be there tonight, but will be one of the vendors tomorrow. I did make it by there a little bit later to check out the setup. I thought it looked great! Its a perfect night tonight, cool, but not cold, and perfectly clear. I thought SLAM had such a nice vibe at night. The lighted tents were beautiful. There was even a guy playing a steel kettle drum. I am looking forward to being a part of it tomorrow night!

SLAM 2

Yesterday, we did our second SLAM or Saturday Local Art Market. This was our first time since they changed the hours to be earlier and at the same time as the Saturday Farmer's Market. The change in hours seemed to bring lots more people our way. Many did the Farmer's Market before stopping in to see what SLAM was all about. We had a good day there. It was very hot, but not quite as hot as the first time, plus we were out of there at 1:00 rather than 4:00.

They had added a few things this time too. They had a gourmet snow cone thing going on. Those were interesting and wonderful. Tim and I tried the Raspberry, Rhubarb, Rose flavor, and it was delicious. It tasted mostly of Raspberry but had a definite undertone of rose. Since I have no idea what rhubarb tastes like, it might have been there too, but I can't say. These were not like your usual snow cones. They weren't nearly as sweet, but they were refreshing. They use only natural, fresh ingredients. One of the other flavors was Cucumber Mint. I didn't get a chance to try that one, maybe next time.

SLAM 1

Tim and I participated in the fitter ever Saturday Local Art Market this past Saturday. I was pleased with how it went, and the organizers have plans to make it even better in the coming weeks. The hot weather was really the worst thing about the day. It was blistering out there! You didn't even have to move, and the sweat was just pouring. It was so hot!

SLAM!

Wow! I found out the other day that my work has been juried into SLAM! the new Saturday Local Art Market! I am so excited about this new opportunity!

Below is some information from the official SLAM FB page. I hope you'll check out the page and make a trip downtown to the market soon. I am not there every Saturday, but I will be there June 11, July 8, August 6, September 24 and October 22.

Stroll down Main Street, or take the free trolley, to the corner of S. Main and River Street (where River St. turns into Augusta). See that empty lot across from Smoke on the Water and the Army Navy Store?

This is where downtown Greenville's newest open air art market...SLAM!...will appear every Saturday afternoon, from June 11th until October 29th from 11:00am to 4:00pm. See you there!
